In Denmark, voters have the flexibility to choose between two main methods of voting: physically at a polling station or through postal voting.
Physical voting allows citizens to participate in the democratic process by visiting their assigned polling place on election day to cast their vote directly. The voting card shows where to go to vote.
Alternatively, postal voting provides a convenient option for those who prefer or need to vote ahead of the designated election day or are unable to visit the polling stations due to various reasons such as travel or health issues.
If you want to vote before election day, you can cast a postal vote at the Library and Citizen Services from Monday, April 29, 2024, until Thursday, June 6, 2024.
You can also vote by postal voting at citizen service centers in other municipalities, even if you reside in Lolland Municipality.
When you go to vote by postal ballot, remember to bring identification in the form of either a health card, driver's license, or passport. Once you have received your voting card, you can also use that.

When voting by postal ballot, remember to bring valid identification such as your passport, driver's license, or the yellow health card. You do not need to bring your voting card, as the voting card is only necessary if you want to vote on election day.
When you arrive at a location where you can vote by postal ballot, there will be a postal voting receiver who will guide you on how to proceed.
Issuance of Ballot Paper
Once you have shown valid identification (e.g., passport, driver's license, or yellow health card) to the postal voting receiver, you will be given a ballot paper and a corresponding blue envelope.
After you have filled out the ballot paper, you must place it in the small blue envelope and seal the envelope.
Cover Letter
Next, you must fill out a cover letter with your name, birth date, and residential address. Some of this information may already be filled out mechanically by the municipality. In any case, you must date and sign the cover letter after you have voted by postal ballot.
The voting receiver must attest the cover letter, thereby certifying that everything has been conducted correctly.
You must then place the envelope containing the ballot paper and the cover letter into a larger outer envelope and seal this outer envelope.
Your postal vote will then be sent to your municipality of residence. Your municipality will ensure that your postal vote is delivered to the polling place to which you belong so that it can be included in the count of votes on election day.
If you are unable to attend the polling station on election day due to illness or lack of mobility, you have the option to apply to vote in your own home. You will subsequently be notified of when the postal vote receivers will visit you at home.
