Emergency medical servicesTelephone number 70 15 07 00.
The emergency medical services are for emergency assistance and only provide essential and acute treatment which cannot wait until your own doctor is available.
You can never attend the emergency medical services without first making an appointment over the telephone.
Your first contact with the emergency medical services is always via telephone. Remember to always have your National Health Service medical card with your Civil Registration Number (CPR) at hand when calling the emergency medical services for help or guidance. On the telephone you can, if necessary, arrange an appointment with the doctor on call or in certain circumstances arrange a home visit by the doctor.
The emergency medical service telephone line is open 24 hours a day at the weekends and on holidays. On weekdays, you can telephone the emergency medical services from 4.00 pm on to 8.00 am the following morning.
For acute injuries received within 24 hours at the latest, you should refer to one of the regional emergency clinics or casualty departments. The emergency medical services have no ambulance service – so in serious and life threatening situations you should telephone the emergency services at 112. Casualty
At the casualty department you can be treated for minor injuries which you have received within 24 hours at the latest. The casualty is open 24 hours a day and you are not required to phone ahead.
